The Trane TZEMT400BB3NX Home Energy Management Thermostat with Nexia Home Intelligence features a simplified home automation of heating, cooling and general energy usage, and remotely monitors and controls the thermostat via smart phones, tabs or computer thus reducing the energy consumption up to 10-15 percent. The thermostat features a seven-day program with up to four daily automatic settings. The easy to install and easy to read thermostat is designed with large graphical backlit LCD display. It is compatible with most brands of central heating, cooling and heat pump system, except dual fuel system, radiant floor and wall heating systems.

The Nexia Home Intelligence communicates wirelessly via Z-Wave wireless technology, it requires the Nexia Home Bridge (sold separately) for a monthly subscription of $9.99. The remote control allows heating and cooling adjustments. It also sends remote alerts via text or email when temperature goes out of range, time to change filters or if maintenance is required. The device comes with simple and easy to understand instructions for installation convenience.

However, it was a disappointment to many users that the Nexis Wireless control has a monthly subscription, in comparison to some other networks where it is connected free of cost.  Some users also feel the initial setup is a little difficult to initiate due to its complex operator interface.
