Pros & Cons
Apple iMac is a great all-in-one desktop computer that put everything - display, processor, graphics, storage, memory, and more - inside one simple, stylish enclosure. Apple iMac includes the most advanced, most brilliant desktop display. A technology called in-plane switching (IPS) gives a bright picture with excellent color from nearly any angle. LED backlighting offers instant-on, uniform brightness with no waiting. Every iMac display is individually color-calibrated using state-of-the-art spectroradiometers to match color standards recognized around the world.
Powered by third-generation Intel Core processors, this iMac is the fastest yet. Every model in the lineup comes standard with a quad-core Intel Core i5 processor, starting at 2.7GHz and topping out at 3.2GHz. And at the Apple Online Store, you can configure your iMac with an even more powerful Intel Core i7 processor, up to 3.4GHz. Advanced NVIDIA GeForce graphics processors built on the Kepler architecture, delivers up to 60 percent greater performance for graphics-intensive tasks. A 1TB hard drive comes standard, with the option to upgrade to a massive 3TB drive. iMac has a breakthrough storage option called Fusion Drive, which combines a high-capacity hard drive with high-performance flash storage. This easy to use desktop comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse or trackpad.
Some reviewers do not like the fact that iMac is not upgradeable by users. Also the keyboard that comes with iMac does not have the numeric pad. There is no optical drive in iMac and it needs an external drive if any DVD or CD needs to be read.
Overall, iMac is another great innovative product from Apple. It comes in 2 sizes – 21.5 inch and 27 inch.
