Pros & Cons
Fisher-Price Discover 'n Grow Kick and Play Piano Gym is an entertaining activity gym that enhances eye-hand coordination as baby bats and grasps the moveable toys overhead. Additionally, this play mat helps the baby strengthen motor skills and provides good exercise while the baby stretches and kicks. The arch can be moved down for tummy play time and is a great way for infants to be entertained while laying down and kicking at the piano keys that light up as a reward. In the sit and play mode the piano keys level up for the baby to have more fun at the musical keys.
Parents especially love that this play gym can grow with their child. The Fisher-Price play n grow piano gym can be used when they are infants during tummy, back time and continue to enjoy it once they learn to sit. As fabulous as this gym is when the baby is on his back, some reviewers feel it really does not work that well for tummy time. They feel that the material of the mat is slippery and the area of the mat is small when baby rolls over. Many parents like that the toys easily come off the bar to take for traveling but would prefer overhead soft toys rather than the hard plastic ones. The babies love the mirror and love to kick at the piano to hear the music and see the lights.
Overall, this is a versatile activity mat that serves many functions. It encourages the babies to reach out and grasp objects with nice sized toys. It provides rewards as the baby kicks, music plays and it lights up. It makes a great gift or a great toy to buy for your own use.
