Pros & Cons
Brother's Free-Arm Sewing Machine (XL-2600i) with it's user-friendly features is a great choice for sewing, quilting and decorating clothing, crafts and/or home fashion. Loaded with features, the sewing machine offers 25 built-in utility, heirloom and decorative stitches, each with multiple stitch function. This model also features 1-step auto-size buttonholder, automatic needle threader and a drop-in bobbin to make sewing as easy as breeze. Some other features include - Built-in thread cutter, Dial thread tension control, Electronic speed control, Twin needle feature for decorative projects, Variable needle positions, Quick change presser feet and Built-in light to illuminate the sewing area. This model also includes a built in space area for storing machine accessories. The compact and lightweight design with handle makes it easily portable.
However, it takes some time to figure out tension adjustment and correct bobbin placement. Some users faced issues like knotted seams, bunching and/or some spots while stitching. As there is no lower thread tension adjustment for the bobbins, the sewer has to adjust the upper tension based on the thickness of the cloth or materials sewing, which sometimes may not be completely understood by the sewer and leads to thread bunches or tangles at the lower bobbin.
Overall, the Brother 25-Stitch Free-Arm Sewing Machine, XL-2600i is highly recommended by users for its quality features, ease of use and affordable price range. It has been built for maximum performance to expand the sewing skills of all levels and to encourage sewers of all age groups.
