Review Summary

This is the summary of consumer reviews for Kindle Paperwhite. The BoolPool rating for this product is Very Good, with 4.30 stars, and the price range is $119-$199.

Kindle Paperwhite is an impressive e-reader that is compact and features an excellent user interface. It delivers clear, crisp text and images with no glare. The high resolution and contrast makes the text create a perfect reading experience in all lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to bedtime reading.

The new, time to read feature uses reader's reading speed to let them know when they will finish the chapter. Battery life is awesome and it can last up to 8 weeks based on light and wireless usage. The texture of the screen gives the look and feel of real paper. It is good for long reading hours without straining eyes.

Some users do not like that the Kindle Paperwhite does not have speakers and headphone jack, which means that it cannot play digital music, audiobooks or use text-to-speech technology. Users also complain about the light banding on the bottom of the screen which is visible in a dark room. Amazon seemed to have some quality control problems with the product but they took care of replacing defective units very efficiently.

Overall, the Kindle Paperwhite is an ideal and dedicated Ebook Reader, not letting users get distracted by the options in a regular tablet. Measuring 6 inches diagonally, it has an improved resolution, contrast and illumination, aiming for the most paper-like reading experience in comparison to the other e-readers available.
