Pros & Cons
Garmin Forerunner 910XT is a sleek, smart and comfortable multisport GPS-enabled wrist watch that provides accurate and detailed swim metrics, cycling distance, speed and other metrics and also tracks distance, pace, elevation and heart rate for running. This new generation device is designed for open water and pool swimming and is water resistant to 50 meters. It is the first GPS watch to offer extensive swim metrics, including swim distance, efficiency, stroke identification, stroke count and pool lengths. This Garmin GPS watch has up to 20 hours of battery life.
Forerunner 910XT also features an easy to read display and a barometric altimeter for highly accurate elevation data, including ascent, descent and grade during cycling. It moves easily from wrist to bike with the optional quick release kit, making your transition between sports effortless. For advanced training, the 910XT is compatible with ANT+™ sensors, including the optional speed/cadence sensor, heart rate monitor (included with some models) or power meter. Forerunner 910XT comes with advanced features like a vibration alert so you can get a silent nudge when you hit a split or it’s time to take nutrition.
Some users experienced problems while using the ANT+ stick to transfer the data. A few reviewers do not like the fact that the heart rate monitor does not work in water. Also in some cases, GPS tracking stops working.
Overall, Garmin Forerunner 910XT is a new generation GPS watch for any athlete who is into triathlons, duathlons, adventure races or other multisport events.
