The Apple MacBook Air (MBA) is powered with Intel Core i5 processor, with new Intel HD Graphics 5000 that offers up to 40 percent faster graphics for enhanced and faster performance especially for games and other graphic intensive tasks. The external Apple USB SuperDrive helps connect the MBA with a single USB cable that’s built in the SuperDrive. It does not require any separate power adapter, and it works comfortably on battery or when plugged in. It helps you install new software and play or burn CD / DVD including double-layer DVDs. Connect the 27-inch Apple Thunderbolt Display with as many as six devices through a single, compact port built-in display. The dual microphones in MBA are great while making FaceTime calls or taking Dictation as they create an adaptive audio beam that intelligently adjusts to detect your voice instead of noise around you. This ultra-efficient architecture was designed to use less power with up to 9 - 12 hours battery life (depending on the model and configuration) and still deliver high performance, which means you can do whatever you want for longer hours.
Models MD712LL/A – 11.6 inch and MD761LL/A – 13.3 inch: These two version of the MacBook Air sports a high-resolution display with OS X Mountain Lion, 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5 dual-core processor (with a Turbo Boost of up to 2.6 GHz), 128 GB or 256 GB of flash memory storage, and 4 GB of RAM (Configuration can vary as per choice). It also comes with the HD 720p FaceTime camera, Wi-Fi wireless networking (802.11a/b/g/n compatible); Bluetooth 4.0, iLife software suite, which includes the latest versions of iPhoto, iMovie, and GarageBand.
However, because of sleek and compact design, some peripheral ports and connectors are missing on Mac Book Air. It does not have Ethernet Port and DVD drive. Two USB ports are connected to one internal USB connector.
Overall, the Apple MacBook Air is thin, light and durable enough to take everywhere and powerful enough to do everything for the price range offered.
